Simon and Lisa had a beautiful winter wedding at the stunning Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa just on the English and Welsh border. It was a cold winter’s day but Lisa and Simon braved the weather and we managed to get photos in both the beautiful Garden and the new Oriental Garden, the later in the evening. It was a pleasure working with Simon and Lisa and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.

Winter wedding photography has it’s own challenges, cold, wet, windy and very little light! The funny thing is when the sun does appear it is the most beautiful of the whole year! Anyway one way to make the most of the winter is to choose a venue which has tremendous scope for indoor photography and the Grosvenor Pulford is a hotel is one such hotel. Dawn and Adam made the most of a very windy January day to have a wonderful wedding. Enjoy the photos.

Sandra and Stephen had a wonderful wedding at the tail end of 2011 at the beautiful Christ Church in Rossett, North Wales. The service was at my favourite hotel the gorgeous Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa just over the border in Cheshire, England. I had a great time taking the photos and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

Winter has it’s own challenges for wedding photography with very short day and generally poor light levels – sometimes this is made worse by mother nature as in the case of Wes and Fiona, it rained all day… I think the key to having lovely photos in these conditions are dependent on two things. Firstly a wonderful location with indoor opportunities for photos and secondly a photographer who can work and manipulate the light in the often poor indoor conditions. Wes and Fiona chose the venue well – the magnificent Grosvenor Pulford Hotel is brilliant in all weathers  and I’ll leave you to judge on the photos….. Enjoy the photos.

Angela & Richard had an amazing day with a cameo appearance by a certain Mr Michael Owen in the photos. Manchester United and England international Michael was a total gentleman leaving his family to give the bride a quick photo opportunity.

The Grosvenor Pulford is one of the finest venues in Cheshire and has wonderful opportunities for photographs even in the darker months of the year.  Angela and Richard wanted some low light images and we planned a bit of time away in the evening before the first dance to explore the hotel. I really enjoy spending some time in the evening with the bride and groom and for a small investment in time I think they have a wonderful collection of extra photos. Enjoy.

This was a gorgeous wedding on a gorgeous day last autumn with the wedding taking place at Holt Church just in North Wales and the reception at the Grosvenor Pulford just over in Cheshire and Steven had came all the way from my home town of Aberdeen with his clan – so definitely a British wedding! I have had the pleasure of having Frances as a chief bridesmaid at two previous wedding and it was lovely for her to be the star at this one.

The pictures are the ‘proofs’ received before the album goes to print allowing the couple to make changes if desired giving the couple complete control of the finished item.

Dave and Olga had a delightful wedding on a bright and sunny December day last year at Rowton Hall Hotel just on the outskirts of Chester. They have chosen a splendid Graphi Album to show of the photos of their special day. Enjoy and please feel free to leave a comment.

The Gap between Christmas and New Year is a very popular time for weddings and I had the privilege of covering Dan & Susan Chee’s wedding which was a little different! The first thing was that the Best man was struck down with the flu and a substitute had to be found on the morning of the wedding lucky Dan has two brothers and one stood in for the photos and the other delivered a very polished speech which was only penned before the wedding breakfast! Not missing a trick the hair and makeup lady was in fact a lawyer!

The Grosvenor Pulford has a really wonderful garden but today it was also a little different as the pond was frozen and the poor swans were left to wander around on the frozen ice. Sadly we had no snow.

Dave and Olga had a lovely winter wedding at Rowton Hall Hotel which is a charming Georgian Manor House, built in 1779. It was a rather chilly day with even the Siberian born Olga saying it was a little cold!

Winter is here and so is low light wedding photography. I must admit to really enjoying the challenged of low light wedding photography and Anisa @ Neil’s wedding is a great example as the service at the lovely Manchester Town Hall started in the dark.

Anisa and Neil where a truly wonderful couple to work with and had a delightful wedding and the album will bring back the wonderful memories of their

special  day.
