I had the pleasure of working with Pauline and Vikki-Ann at the stunning Queen hotel in the centre of Chester, Cheshire. Pauline did the makeup and Vikki was the model. I wanted to try out some new lighting set ups particularly outside in the gardens. It was really cold so we also took a number of photographs indoor I didn’t want to lose Vikki to the elements!
THe lovely Vikki in one of the bedrooms of the Queen Hotel in Chester
Black and White really is a good medium for beauty photography.
I love this shot, the lighting is just portable flashguns (OCF) which I use at weddings. I always like to be able to reproduce similar shots on a wedding day.
Love this shot, Vikki looks amazing and the finish I think really complements the photograph.
This is a very different expression from the more moody images – I think it is my favourite from the indoor photographs.
The Queen hotel has a wonderful background in the rooms for photography.
I also really love this image. The black and white finish really adds atmosphere.
This is the garden of the Queen Hotel and a very good all year round venue for photographs. It even looks good in the dark! I have four flashguns illuminating this picture.
When the is still a bit of colour left in the sky is a wonderful time to take out door photographs.
Vikki was actually getting soaked from the fountain but failed to mention it! My flashguns also got a bit wet from spray but didn’t seem to mind!
The patio garden is brilliant for photography, I have a wedding coming up here in a few weeks and can’t wait to play in the dark!
I love this one, I love the different lighting colours in the image and the hat!
This shoot was actually a get together with other local photographers, it a good time to experiment . My background is in model and dancer/performing arts photography and it is an arena I love working in. I try to incorporate this type of imagery into my wedding work and judging by how full my diary is I think a lot of people like it.
