June and the summer Wedding season has finally arrived and the gardens of Cheshire are looking amazing. And another amazing event was the fantastic wedding of Sara and Steve I had the privilege of photographing at one of Cheshire’s finest venues the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa on the outskirts of the historic and beautiful Chester. And here are the photographs from this amazing day. If you would prefer a slide show of some of the images you can find it here.
Lets start at the end of the day with Sara and Steve’s big wedding love balloons. Somehow black and white focusses the eye, there are no distractions of colour.
Laughter, fun and just a little anxiety! The morning of your wedding, the biggest and most special day of someone’s life is full of conflicting emotions which going into a melting pot of emotions. It is what makes the wedding day so special.
All the girls and a rather beautiful cat getting ready for the big wedding day. A cat and a wedding dress in the same place and the same time. Scary!!
Dad, full of pride watches his beautiful daughter appear in a stunning wedding dress. A beautiful moment in time.
A massive limo fits all the Girls and Dad to the Grosvenor Pulford and a rather wonderful wedding. Sara looks so relaxed.
And just a few meters away the Groom awaits his beautiful bride, it a long wait and minutes must take hours.
I love this sequence of events, the end of the waiting when two become one. And what a beautiful service.
Leaving the Grosvenor Suite to a wall of confetti and a bright sunny summer day. The sun has got his wedding hat on!
The Grosvenor Pulford has two amazing gardens and this was taken in the stunning ‘English’ garden, the older of the two and the Weeping Willows just look amazing. What a stunning venue for a stunning couple.
A lush beautiful green garden in black and white. Funny it still looks really lush even with no green!
Wow look at the sun bursting through the trees and a contemporary group shot of one of the easiest groups of people I could hope to work with. What a star burst. Wedding wonderland.
Brillaint fun and wedding games. I hope they didn’t drop him.
Girls having fun and adding fun to a fantastic wedding day.
Back on the stunning bridge in the Gardens of the Grosvenor Pulford. It is one of the finest venues Cheshire has to offer if not the UK. It is also right on the Welsh border. The river just to the left of this shot is the Welsh Border. Cheshire itself, the ancient border city is only about three or so miles away.
A most beautiful, funny, effervescent bride on her wedding day. How beautiful. A fantastic wedding.
Wedding speeches. I often think there are more nerves, mainly for the male sections of the wedding, than for the service itself. These had some fantastic speeches. A highlight of the wedding.
An amazing bride in an amazing garden. What a backdrop with the waterfall and the small bridge in the Oriental garden. The incredibly bright dominates the scene. The sun isn’t always a photographers friend, some skill and experience is needed to shoot straight into a bright summer sun but if successful it adds amazing atmosphere to the wedding photos. And look at Sara dress, she looks amazing.
Black and White in the Oriental Garden and Steve jumps into the wedding photos. It hard being the supporting act sometimes! The Oriental Garden is just an amazing spot for photos.
I think this is one of my favourites. It looks more or less 3d. The little Fuji cameras I started using about 18 months ago are really amazing in this sort of lighting. And the detail is amazing.
Looking a bit like a pop band in wedding dresses, and maybe a glass of wine or two to help the rock and roll atmosphere! Wedding groups with a bit of attitude.
Ha more or less identical to the above photo except the lights are turned off! Sometimes I don’t think people realise how much work and lighting goes into producing images into the direct sun. This is what all the above photos would look like without some very powerful lights.
The sun sets over the Welsh hills and casts a golden glow across the pond in the Oriental Garden of the Grosvenor Pulford. A rather perfect backdrop for the stunning Sara on her wedding day.
A colour sepia effect adds even more warmth to the beautiful end to a marvellous Wedding day.
The little bridge in the Oriental Garden adds another location to a growing list of amazing spots for photography at the Grosvenor Pulford. One of Cheshire’s finest wedding venues.
A magical silhouette fills is the center piece of this Wedding compilation of Sara and Steve.
Black and White. How photography started, what my parents photos were like, still timeless.
I love this wedding image, If it was me I’d have it big on the wall!! A beautiful contemporary wedding image.
A last few after the sun has set in the Oriental Garden. A perfect reflection on the pond and a beautiful blue sky. It amazing how complex it is to take these images, I do think people now a days think it is all done in Photoshop but it isn’t. A quality photograph starts in camera. You cannot make a silk purse out of a pigs ear I think the old proverb says.
First Dance. And normally for me the end of the day, but not today. Today Sara and Steve have a big display up there sleeves.
Bang, and an amazing firework display soars into the Cheshire sky.
Wedding day sparklers, what a fun way of ending the day.
It spells LOVE and what a beautiful way to end the photography from an amazing day.
