I had the pleasure of photographing the long awaited wedding of Paulette and Michael at the gorgeous Best Western Queen Hotel in the old Roman toen of Chester. The Queen Hotel is a lovely base for a Chester Wedding being opposite the train station and a brisk walk from the city centre.
I say long awaited wedding as Michael has taken 22 years to pop the question and I for one have never met a couple more in love.
Paulette chose a really beautiful ivory wedding dress which for me at least looked rather Roman in keeping with Chester being the Old Roman capital of the Britain. The Queen’s décor is also very Roman and British inspired and is a wonderful background for my wedding photography.
It those little things on the big day which make the big differences. Marginal gains i think they call it 😉
And the lovely couple also had a lot of luck with the weather, although the clouds where threatening they managed to have a magical out door wedding service right in the centre of Chester just before our summer went back to form.
I love the look in Paulette’s face. Love. As she exchanges the wedding rings after a 22 year courtship.
This is a lovely feature in the Kings Garden for wedding photography. The photo is finished in a colour sepia which I think really compliments the Roman feel of the gardens. I think black and white would also have looked brilliant.
And a close up of a loving wedding kiss and the finish is my coffee finish.
It started to rain so we moved indoors to finish off the wedding photos, I love the interior of the Queen Hotel. Some of the art work and ornaments are really stunning.
Mirrors always make amazing props for wedding photos, it is brilliant to be able to see the back of the wedding dress as the same time as the front.
How amazing does the gold guilt look in this wedding image?
This is the reception area of the Queen Hotel and the gold is so opulent – a perfect backdrop to the wedding photo. I also quite like the person at the top of the frame watching the wedding photos from afar unaware she may be in the album!
Lovely wedding dress, gorgeous wedding flowers and a beautiful bride.
Another wedding mirror image but very different from the previous ones. This one is taken in the bedroom of the Queen Hotel.
I love this photo, I don’t think you could find a more serene bride. And the bedroom is a wonderful backdrop.
The Queen Hotel has some amazing art works and they add a bit of something special to the wedding photos.
And now the cake! It looks rather nice 🙂
For me this is the end of the day as i was only employed up to the wedding breakfast. Pink champagne anyone?
But I thought I’d finish the blog on an earlier wedding photo. The wonderful couple. Michael and Paulette you where a total pleasure to work with.
