I had the pleasure of photographing Emily and Carl’s beautiful Cheshire Wedding yesterday and somehow we managed to dodge the torrential showers and where treated to a rather special evening light for some some of the wedding photos.
If I had to choose just one photograph from Emily and Carl’s Grosvenor Pulford wedding I think it would be this one. The spectacular Oriental gardens look amazing bathed in the evening light and the gathering storm clouds are making for an wedding backdrop to die for. The ripples on the pond cast a simple reflection as does the sky above. The picture has a coffee/vintage finish and was taken with my trusty Nikon D4 and 24-120 mm standard zoom lens. If you look closely you can see the two flash guns on either side. I will remove these later but thought it would be nice to show the off camera flash. They are bare Nikon SB910 flash guns which add a hard light and increase the reflection in the water of this lovely wedding image. The Nikon flash guns are fired with Radio Popper triggers from the camera, these triggers are an amazing bit of kit and I can control the flash output from my camera making shots like this so much faster than they would of been a few years ago.
I’ll post a fuller group of photos from this one lovely wedding later this week or next. I’ve a busy week this week with three weddings so may struggle with time! I’ve also got a couple of wedding albums I’d love to share.
