Gosh I should start off with an apology, I am just so far behind with blogging this year as it nearly August and this wonderful wedding of Sian and Scott took place back at the start of February at the magnificent Grosvenor Pulford.
I’ll start at the end!! Here is one of my favourites of Sian and Scott looking like a Hollywood couple in the amazing Oriental Garden of the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa. I love this image it one. Sians dress looks so stunning reflected in the still waters of the lake. She is so beautiful on her most beautiful of days. Scott looks totally regal and an orange sliver of light is still visible as the sun sets below the Welsh hills into the darkness. It was also really cold outside, but you would never have guessed by looking at this wonderful wedding photograph. It would look wonderful on the wall, problem is Sian and Scott have a few amazing images to choose from. I wonder if it will even make the album….
Kids make wedding in so many ways and I find it so fascinating watch the joy and fun and wonder as they approach something very new. The wedding prepared in the rooms of the Grosvenor Pulford which does make the logistics very easy!
All of Sian’s things! The most stunning of dresses with the most delicate of lace and the accompanying jewellery. All the little things that will add the finest touches to an amazing Wedding.
More of Sian’s details. The shoes you can’t forget the shoes!!
Preparation, Preparation and a bit more preparation. Sian stayed incredibly calm in the morning of her wedding, I think she had everything so organised she had no time to get nervous!!
In the Grosvenor Suite while Sian was going over her last minute details the men had just a little too much time! In my experience of attending hundreds of weddings the waiting is when the nerves appear. And often the male of the species seems more nervous than the female.
Back upstairs and everyone is ready for the walk down to the service. Bridesmaids are looking beautiful, bride is amazing and the kids are smiling rather enthusiastically! Mom and Dad have waited for this moment for a long time 🙂
And now for the business end of the wedding, the bridesmaids lead the way followed by Sian and her Father.
Wedding aren’t all serious and men when they can be kids seem to love the day that little bit more! After all deep down they are still kids. I know as I am one!!
A bride with added WOW! The early darkness of February does cause problems for a photographer but with experience these can be turned to advantages and added drama and can be created in the wedding photographs. This photograph would of looked very different in the day. I love the thin orange line as the sun sets behind the Welsh Hills and the ink darkness of the moody sky above. The reflections in the lake and just enough light so see the amazing gardens but not enough gardens to distract from the star of the show Sian. And how elegant does she look? A pleasure to work with and photograph.
And we must not forget Scott, as he joins Sian in the Oriental Garden of the Grosvenor Pulford.
And the Kiss! The garden by the way is really dark and all the lighting, apart from the small lamps you see around the lake is added by me. Adding the light allows me to control the reflection and the drama of the scene. I think I have done a decent job.
Changing the light changes the whole feel of the wedding photograph. Here I have allowed more light and the sky has gone a beautiful mauve. It very different and I really adore the colour in the night sky.
Classical pose and every last bit of detail can be seen in Sian’s lace on her elegant wedding dress.
The Oriental Gardens at the Grosvenor Pulford also have a beautiful waterfall. I think the sky looks amazing in this photograph. I also find the sunset and sunrise the most amazing time of day, the light changes second by second and paints the world very differently to the rest of the day.
It was really cold back on Sian and Scott’s wedding and coming indoors must have been a real relief! Here the classicial beauty of Sian is reflected in a very ornate mirror in the hall of the Grosvenor Pulford. Another chance to show off an amazing dress and beautiful Bride.
A close up of Sian.
Just for a bit of variety here are a few in black and White. I love the simple tones of black and white wedding photography..
Back to the party and one little by has used up all his energy and needs to recharge!
The speeches. Nerves, anxiety, excitement.
