Sam on the morning of her amazing wedding at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa in Chester, Cheshire. I love this photograph, it just a simple snapshot of the day but for me at least evokes all the emotion, excitement, apprehension and joy in one single image. It is a timeless expression that brides must of felt down the ages, of going forward to a new life and a new chapter with the one you love, yet he isn’t there and you are surrounded by your nearest and dearest. Weddings bring out all of the emotions, they are a wonderful. And it is a pleasure to be so near to people and have the responsibility of documenting such an amazing day.
Sam was an amazing bride to deal with and all morning she was calm and indeed all day. She appeared to be cope with anything, with a smile and with boundless enthusiasm. Sam was an incredibly fun person to work with on her big day, and the shot above was fleeting, soon the smile was back on her face. Maybe it was being around the family, her radiant mother looking on full of pride watching her ‘little girl’ get ready for the biggest day of her life. Maybe even reflecting back on her own wedding day, who knows.
The Mother of the Bride, looking amazing as she watches her baby transform into a beautiful bride on the morning of the wedding. I sometimes wonder if watching a your child get married is actually more stressful than getting married. On the day and over the years it often the parents that seem to suffer from pre wedding nerves the most. It maybe a day all parents dream of. As a Wedding Photographer this part of the day is beautiful to observe, I normally try and remain in the background, watching and trying to capture little moments totally unobserved.
Sam married Gareth just a few moments after these photographs were taken. Below the sheer joy of getting married shows through, she is in Gareth’s arms and together they will share the happiest day of their lives together. Watched over by loving parents who are sharing every emotion with them.
And on they go together to share an amazing adventure, and I was lucky enough to be employed to record the beginning of their married life.
Thank you Sam and Gareth it was an absolute pleasure to be part of your Wedding.
