Ruthin Castle is an amazing place steeped in history and dating back to 1277 and the Era of King Edward the 1 of England, it truly has a magnificent story of loves and live to tell and is nestled in the beautiful Clwydian Range of mountains in North Wales, Ruthin itself is a picture postcard thriving Welsh town. Ruthin Castle is a perfect place to start a love story and one of the finest venues you could hope to see. Every wall, the nooks and crannies all tell a story of Welsh and Ruthin’s history and today was another chapter in that book as Charlotte and Nicholas tied the knot.
A Wagnerian sky as the sun sets over the Welsh Hills is a fine way to start the blog. I love the Stone Circle which I presume pre-dates the castle by a century or two and has probably seen many a wedding take place in the never ending walls of the circle. Just like the wedding ring, it has no start and has no end.
Lets go back to the beginning of the wedding and look at the little people for a while. The Flower-girls are so cute, I love to watch them watching everything else, they do not miss anything. And Black and White strips away all the distractions.
Wow how big are those shoes, and shiny!! And the Flower-girls discuss petal tactics for the service to come. The dresses are a really beautiful colour. A brilliant choice by Charlotte for a beautiful August wedding in North Wales.
The long walk. Nicholas makes his way down to the ceremony. Walking down the steps of Ruthin’s history on the way make history of his own.
And just a few moments in time later a most stunning bride makes her way down the stairs followed by her two assistants. What a lovely image.
It August in the UK and we have a sunny day and an outside wedding. And what a setting in the magnificent gardens of Ruthin Castle.
Peacocks form a guard of honour as the beautiful couple seal the wedding with a kiss.
A wedding is a time of celebration, a time of love and of looking forward to a new chapter but it is also a tie to out past, to who walked this way before us and a time for the older generation to reflect on what an amazing achievement and contribution to this world they have made. A beautiful moment in the Gardens of Ruthin Castle.
Outside under a massive August blue sky into the ancient Stone Circle.
A penny for the thoughts? Inside the Great Hall at Ruthin Castle. It is a magnificent setting.
Speeches. Wedding speeches are often the most feared single part of the day and are also normally a brilliant part of the day.
A magnificent Castle front for a beautiful couple. The mighty Welsh Dragon stands guard overhead whilst the Lions keep the peace at ground level.
Some couples are just too cool!
Ruthin Castle is a beautiful Backdrop. It is truly one of North Wales finest castles, and lets face it North Wales has a lot of very fine castles.
It is August, mid August but already the trees seem to have a Autumnal colour to them. I love the colours they give a perfect background to the stunning couple.
The sun sets on a beautiful North Wales wedding at the amazing Ruthin Castle, but the party is just beginning.
A beautiful bride with what must be the most beautiful expression, of love of joy of fun. A truly beautiful person.
I have no idea what is gong on…. It a very different first dance!
Lets hear if for the girls 🙂
