A wedding is a very special day indeed, the day when two people utterly in love decide to tie the knot and become one. And Bolton Castle is a very special location with a medieval history and I’m sure the odd ghost story to keep one awake at night but combine the two and we have a fantastic special day. Laura and Tom, from where I was standing you had an absolute ball of a wedding! If you would prefer to view the pictures and a stunning slide show, I have been informed it far easier to sip a glass of wine when looking at a slide show, you can view a selection from this fantastic blue skied Yorkshire Castle wedding here and don’t forget the glass of wine!!
For those who would prefer to the traditional blog here is a selection of my favourites from this top wedding day. A wedding what dreams are made of!
Bolton Castle or Castle Bolton it seems to be called both but one thing is very clear it is a stunning and an historic a wedding venue as you will find with a history dating back over 700 years. I loved working with Laura and Tom on their wedding day and I loved Bolton Castle. This fisheye perspective shows off the stunning castle in the darkness as the warm tungsten lights burn inside.
Lets start at the beginning as Laura nd her girls get ready for an amazing day. Laura had hired a cottage just yards from the entrance to the hotel. A perfect spot for the pre wedding fun and nerves.
Laura in the subtle window light which is being diffused by the wedding and bridesmaids dresses. A rather magical story is just about to unfold. And in black and White, it just adds a bit of class.
From these set of images you can see the wedding walk in it’s entirety as Laura is led across by her Father and followed by her entourage to the amazing Bolton Castle for her wedding. Blue sky are very visible but the gale force wind is less obvious! Yorkshire.
Upstairs in the Grande Hall of Bolton Castle Tom awaits his bride. He looks pretty dapper himself.
When two become one. A rather beautiful wedding ceremony in Bolton Castle.
A simple corridor with seven hundred years of history.
A moment of intimacy as the Castle stands guard.
Gritty and looking a bit like a movie still from an old Black and White film.
What an amazing wedding dress. And how elegant and beautiful is Laura.
Britain makes rather fine castles! And rather fine wedding venues.
The Rose Garden of Bolton Castle.
The same more or less shot to above but with a different lens and perspective. How different does taking a few steps make a photograph?
As the sun sets over a perfect wedding.
Laura looking amazing, if you look closely Laura’s hair is an indicator of just how windy it was. And the flag! A windy wedding in Yorkshire 🙂
A rather cool couple.
Stunningly dressed wedding rooms.
Playing in the sun below Bolton Castle.
Yorkshire has some of the most impressive countryside the UK has to offer. A perfect wedding setting.
The entourage and families.
Leading lines for a leading couple.
I love this one of Laura.
I think they had rather a fine party at Laura and Tom’s wedding.
The moon stands guard over the valley as Laura and Tom escape for a few minutes into the night.
The last few Photographs in the dark. I was so privileged to be able to record Laura and Tom’s very special wedding at Bolton Castle. I had a ball photographing their wedding in a part of the country I have never worked in before. It was a beautiful destination.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my blog. And Thank you Laura and Tom for choosing me to record your big day. Enjoy the rest of your married life.
Wedding Photography. It an honour to be part of the big day.
